Travelling overseas?

Anyone traveling overseas is at risk of suffering a travel related illness, particularly in high risk areas such as parts of Asia, Africa and South America. Therefore prior to travel it is a good idea to see your GP for personalised advice on how to reduce your risk of illness. This will include preventative measures such as travel vaccinations, avoiding mosquitos and reducing the risk of drinking contaminated water.

For effective immunisation, it is best to complete travel vaccinations well in advance of travel plans. Please bring a detailed travel plan to your appointment.

Many of the Doctors consulting from Doctors on Darling are accredited to immunise for Yellow Fever.

Vaccines needed for travel

Exploring the world through travel is full of excitement and wonder, so you want to avoid getting unwell. Many overseas countries still have diseases that we no longer have in Australia. The safest way to ensure that you and your family are safeguarded against these diseases, is to be vaccinated for the disease.

The doctors, consulting at Doctors on Darling are available to provide you with comprehensive advice on the relevant immunisations dependant on where you are travelling and at what time of year. The GP’s can also provide you with some tips on what to avoid while travelling to help maximise your time away.

It is recommended that you visit your GP, 6-8 weeks before travelling to ascertain the best immunisation schedule for you and your family.

Doctors on Darling carry stock of vaccines that can assist in protecting you from;
